Have your say: Iwi Environmental Management Plan (IEMP)
Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Kuia is seeking whānau feedback on Ngā Kanohi Kārearea: Te Mahere Whakahaere Taiao o Ngāti Kuia, our draft Iwi Environmental Management Plan (IEMP). This living document guides how we care for and protect our taiao; our whenua, wai, moana, ngahere, hau takiwā, and all living things, now and into the future.
Your kōrero is a taonga that will help shape the IEMP and inform ways to ensure future generations inherit a thriving environment and a strong cultural identity.
Step 1: Read the IEMP Summary
This short summary outlines our:
- Whakapapa Framework: grounding environmental decisions in te ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Vision and Aspirations: restoring the taiao, nurturing connections, uplifting whānau
- Objectives: for wai, whenua, moana, hau takiwā, wāhi tīpuna, and mahinga kai
- Hunga Tiaki: our collective role as environmental guardians

Your feedback will help us refine and prioritise iwi objectives and shape the final plan.
