As Pou Maru, my role is to uphold and protect our tikanga, ensuring we are safe, grounded, and connected. Sustaining our tikanga, reo, and mātauranga is about keeping our identity alive for future generations, so they know who they are and where they belong. It’s a privilege to serve our iwi and help whānau feel that sense of connection and belonging. Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
