Tony is a qualified chartered accountant, and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka (the University of Otago).

He is a senior associate at Johnstons accountants.

Tony has extensive experience on commercial property acquisitions, residential property subdivisions, townhouse developments, fishing industry structures, business strategy and planning, viticulture, acquaculture, contracting and hospitality industries.

Tony is the current chairman of Te Hoiere Asset Holding Company, the commercial arm of Ngāti Kuia.

Outside of work, Tony enjoys time with his family, and all sports.

He was a director and deputy chairman of the Tasman Rugby Union for nine years.

His wife and child are affiliated to Ngāti Kahungunu.
