Ngāti Kuia are the descendants of the oldest people of Te Tauihu o Te Waka a Māui. We are the descendants of Māui, Kupe, and Matua Hautere. Te Runanga o Ngāti Kuia Trust is an iwi organisation with a proud history of giving back to the community, supporting the operation of our marae, and contributing to the restoration and well-being of the taiao and tāngata whenua.

An exciting permanent opportunity has become available within our team – Kaiwhakatairanga | Marketing + Communications Lead.

Te Mahi | About the role

Lead the charge in growing the brand and commercial ventures of Ngāti Kuia. This role blends creative strategy with cultural integrity to amplify our stories, products, and places — connecting whānau, customers, and communities through powerful marketing and communications.

Ngā pūkeka me kā wheako? | What will you bring to the iwi?

• 2+ years relevant experience

• A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media, or Digital Content Creation.

• Proven experience in product marketing, social media management, and content creation.

• A strong understanding of kaupapa Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori.

Bonus Skills

• Experience working with iwi, Māori businesses, or kaupapa-driven organisations.

• Skills in e-commerce, graphic design, photography, or video editing.
