Exciting Part-Time Opportunity – Rourou Kaiāwhina at Te Hoiere Campground

We’re looking for a passionate team member to join us at Te Hoiere Campground (next to Pelorus Bridge) in the role of Rourou Kaiāwhina. This is a fixed-term, part-time position running from early October 2025 to early March 2026, offering 20–30 hours per week.

Te Mahi | About the role

Supporting the Kaiwhakatāwara Rourou / Cafe Manager & Chef, the Rourou Kaiāwhina with all food truck operations, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee daily operations of the food truck;
  • Manage supporting kaimahi (staff), as required;
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times;
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies;
  • Handle customer service issues and feedback appropriately;
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the truck; and
  • Provide support to the Kaiwhakahaere I Te Hoiere / Te Hoiere Campground Manager as needed.

For the successful candidate we do have free basic accommodation available on weekends (limited time only) within Te Hoiere Campground if wanted.

  • Confident on a coffee machine, or keen to learn.
  • Experience with food prep and safe food handling, or willing to learn.
  • The ability to travel to and from Te Hoiere Campground on a daily basis.
  • 1-year experience working in hospitality, with experience cashing up and closing a venue.
  • Reliable, friendly, and happy to work as part of a small team
