Youth MP

Ngāti Kuia rangatahi aged 16–18 have an exciting opportunity to represent our iwi and community at Youth Parliament 2025. Rachel Boyack, MP for Nelson, is seeking applications for her Youth MP, giving one young person the chance to bring the voice of our whānau to Parliament.

The Youth MP tenure runs from 28 April – 29 August 2025, including a two-day event in Wellington on 1–2 July 2025. This is a unique opportunity to learn about government, connect with other young leaders, and advocate for issues that matter to you and your peers.

Applications close 12pm, Friday 28 February 2025. Submissions can be a letter, speech, video, performance, essay, or artwork. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a selection event in March.
